Thalapathy Vijay In TROUBLE! Police Complaint Filed Against Actor For Allegedly Glorifying Consumption Of Drugs In His New Song Naa Ready- REPORTS
Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie Leo’s recently released song Naa Ready has come under the scanner for allegedly glorifying drug use
South actor Thalapathy Vijay enjoys a huge fan following in the nation. Fans love and adore the actor for his down-to-earth personality and larger-than-life movies. While many are awaiting the release of his upcoming film Leo, which also stars Trisha Krishnan and Sanjay Dutt, the makers recently released the song Naa Ready. An activist from Chennai has filed a police complaint against the actor for allegedly glorifying consumption of drugs and alcohol, they have also demanded a ban on the film.
Sung by Vijay and Anirudh, the makers had released a lyrical video of the song a few days ago. According to the reports by DNA, Chennai-based RTI Selvam, on Sunday, filed an online complaint with Chennai Police Commissioner. The complaint asked for action against the actor under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. it stated that through the song, the actor is glorifying drug use. This is not the first time Selvam has filed a complaint against director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s projects. They had filed a similar complaint against one of his previous projects Vikram starring Kamal Haasan. The movie featured Haasan as a former special ops officer, who was busting a cartel. For the unversed, the lyric video features Vijay dancing with a cigarette in his mouth, while his back up dancers have mugs of beer in their hands. The makers are yet to release the actual song video. The film’s team is yet to respond to the complaint.
Slated to release on October 19, the movie is touted as one of the most awaited Tamil films of 2023. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan and Priya Anand in pivotal roles of the film.
